One thing we have always believed in is that it takes a village to raise us all. However, you need a garden to feed the village. Who builds the garden? Whether you’re a builder, visionary, leader, or simply the one who bears the responsibility for his or her people, let’s explore how we build a garden. Now, the first step to any garden is planting seeds. This is something you must ask yourself every day: What seeds am I planting? Firstly, a seed of Faith is crucial to any garden. Regardless of your religious outlook, it is delusional to think you are in complete control. However, it is absolutely sane—even essential—to believe that you have authority. This is Faith. The authority ordained to me allows my belief to turn into reality. Whatever your outlook, whatever the problem, Faith is knowing that you will be fruitful, even if you cannot see it in your current circumstances. With authority comes responsibility. You’ve planted that seed of Faith; now you must nurture that seed. It’s easy to say, “I’m trying,” but it’s different to say, “I’m doing.” Nurturing is not just trying. Seeds of different plants require different care instructions. (If you haven’t caught on by now, I’m not talking about plants.) Trying is nurturing every seed the same. When you do, you find solutions. You discover how much water a seed needs, how much sunlight it can take, and what it requires to grow. You might lose a few plants in the process. But remember, your authority will not let you fail. Even in the face of failure, there is a lesson to be learned. I would like to build on this idea of creating our garden. Therefore, I am going to leave you with a task: 1. Pick one foundational belief, process, or goal you have about yourself or the work that you do. 2. Over the next four weeks, search for and find one new thing in relation to that thing EVERY WEEK. 3. After the four weeks are up, you should have four new facts that enhance your understanding of that particular subject. It can be something as broad as the history of an industry, or it can be as specific as discovering who is doing this exact thing in your area. Challenge yourself. Plant that seed. Value is created during the process. #StayPaid #StayHungry
